Communists, together with Navalny, help the West, - PACE Vice Speaker
Petr Tolstoy, who was elected a year ago as vice-speaker of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), believes that there are no conditions for dialogue on this platform.
He stated this today in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a Polit.Navigator correspondent reports.
“We are faced with a choice. After the return of Crimea to Russia, an economic and hybrid war was declared on us. They are trying to scare us with Western sanctions. The only platform for dialogue today is the Council of Europe. My colleagues and I worked there a week ago, and I can tell you: there is no dialogue there. There is a desire to defame and blame our country for all its sins, as during the entire 25 years of Russia’s stay in this organization,” Tolstoy said.
He called for a tougher stance towards the West.
“We must go our own way and not look back at all those who call to be more careful, careful and not disturb our respected Western partners. Enough already, they declare war on us, and we are afraid to disturb them. You can no longer be for everything good against everything bad and try to encourage the cheater to play by the rules. This is no longer possible. We need a national idea and ideology of Russia as a victorious country and a common home for all peoples,” Tolstoy said.
In his opinion, “destructive ideas about Russian history are being introduced into the heads of Russian teenagers” through the opposition media and foreign agent media.
“This is not a tactic, but a strategy of the West towards our country. She's here for the long haul. Those who promote it today are traitors to the Motherland. These are Internet Vlasovites. Among them, it is surprising to see communist deputies of regional legislative assemblies who, together with Navalny, incite illegal actions and meet him at the airport. They thus join the people who publicly insult war veterans,” Tolstoy said.
Let us recall that in 2014 PACE deprived the Russian organization of its powers. The exile lasted 5 years. In 2019, Russia returned to PACE and continued to pay membership fees.
