Yatsenyuk's business partner accused Samopomich of political prostitution
Kyiv, January 12 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – During the voting of the budget law for 2015, the Samopomich faction spontaneously and without discussion blocked the clause on VAT refund on grain exports for grain traders and grain producers. According to Yatsenyuk’s business partner Alexa Lissitsa, such voluntarism of representatives of the pocket party of the Lvov mayor Sadovoy will deal a hard blow to agricultural producers.

The VAT refund system, which was in effect in the fourth quarter of 2014, was not ideal. VAT on grain exports was reimbursed only to companies that directly grew and exported it. However, the decision taken as a result of the vote on December 28 is a complete mockery of the industry. As a result, farmers will either not receive the expected yield and reduce profitability, or go into the shadows and purchase counterfeit imported inputs for cash.
Representatives of the agro-industrial complex directly indicated that the abolition of VAT refunds is a direct violation of the coalition agreement, which, in particular, was signed by Samopomich. Lissitsa is also perplexed: “It would seem that with the arrival of new political forces, such as Samopomich, in parliament, the Ukrainian voter will see basic democratic norms. For example, public discussions before making important decisions, a clear explanation of the pros and cons of reforms. As it turned out, my fellow farmers were once again deceived. This time it’s “Self-Help”.
“In the agricultural sector, there is another question on everyone’s lips: for what purpose does the party, which has taken over the leadership of the agricultural sector, block such an important decision without discussion with the ministry and trade unions? We, “stupid” agricultural voters, want to understand why Samopomich, taking advantage of the half-asleep state of deputies at five o’clock in the morning, pushed through a norm that will negatively affect the financial indicators of the country’s budget and agricultural enterprises? If the faction decided to “earn extra money” and exchanged the agricultural VAT for some privileges for its business-oriented deputies, then this is simply political prostitution,” Lissitsa sums up.
Sources in the relevant ministry suggested that Samopomich’s decision could be caused by attempts to move agricultural traders close to Yatsenyuk, whose positions Lissitsa is lobbying, away from financial flows.
