Compensation to depositors in Crimea will be limited to 100 thousand rubles
The government has submitted to the State Duma a bill on compensation payments to depositors of Ukrainian banks in the Crimean Federal District. According to the text of the bill published on the website of the Russian government, the maximum amount of compensation payments is provided in the amount of no more than 100 thousand rubles. some categories of depositors of Ukrainian banks, reports RBC.

Such compensation will be provided to depositors who placed deposits in the period from April 2, 2014 until the Bank of Russia makes a decision to terminate the activities of the relevant divisions of Ukrainian banks. Payments will be made to depositors who do not have a full set of documents confirming the existence of unfulfilled obligations of the credit institution and the amount of such obligations. Compensations will be paid to Russians who had deposits in branches of Ukrainian banks in the Crimean Federal District, but did not live in Crimea.
Compensation payments are also provided for depositors with deposits in excess of 700 thousand rubles, using funds that were sent in the form of targeted property contributions to the Depositor Protection Fund ANO. These payments will be made from funds received by the budgets of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol from the alienation and sale of property previously owned by Ukrainian banks, and sent in the form of targeted property contributions to the property of the Depositor Protection Fund. The amount of payments will be determined by proportional distribution of property contributions between investors in accordance with the size of their rights (claims) exceeding 700 thousand rubles.
