Who will not receive the Nobel Peace Prize?
While the Nobel Prize for Literature has caused traditional rumors, an even greater explosion of emotions can be expected from the presentation of the Nobel Peace Prize. Today the Nobel committee is about to announce its decision, and bookmakers and experts are trying to guess who will get the prize. But now we can firmly say who will definitely not get the prize.

Among those vying for the award and whose name means at least something to the average person, the main contenders are considered to be Pope Francis, who earned this honor by mediating between Cuba and the United States, which restored diplomatic relations this year, as well as by his liberal position regarding the place of women and homosexuals in the Catholic Church, Angela Merkel, who became the adoptive mother of hundreds of thousands of orphans of the global world, overcoming unimaginable obstacles in order to touch German soil, and at the same time brought peace to Ukraine, becoming one of the architects of the Minsk agreements, and finally, US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamed Javad Zarif, the two men who made the deal that saved the peaceful atom for Iran, and the world from the Iranian atom.
Before the EU refugee crisis began this summer, it was Kerry who was considered the number one contender for the award. After all, the deal on Iran’s nuclear program is an excellent example of cooperation between East and West, the peaceful resolution of acute crises and the victory of the principle of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and technologies for their creation, which is important for all international security architecture.
And if the newly minted literature laureate is the only holder in the world of both the Nobel Prize and the Lenin Komsomol Prize, then if Kerry is awarded, the Obama administration will become the only government in the world whose two top officials have received such an award.
However, yesterday the spiritual leader of Iran added a fly in the ointment. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei announced a ban on any further negotiations with the United States. “Negotiations with the United States open the gates to their influence in the fields of politics, economics, culture and security. Even during negotiations on the nuclear program, they tried to harm our national interests,” the official website of the spiritual leader reports his words (well at least not Tweeter like the Taliban).

And if we take it not according to Stockholm, but according to Hamburg, then Vladimir Putin should undoubtedly have become another nominee. Firstly, he had a hand in solving Iran’s nuclear problem, because it was the cooperation of the Islamic Republic with Russia in the field of nuclear energy that marked the beginning of the crisis.
If it were not for his strong anti-interventionist position in recent years, then everything was leading to the fact that another unique historical precedent could have happened when the Nobel Peace Prize winner and a candidate for its laureate would have decided to bomb another candidate. And this, you see, would be completely overkill. Secondly, Angela Merkel’s contribution to the Minsk process is undoubtedly there, but Vladimir Putin is the only person in the world who can convince the DPR and LPR to sit down at the negotiating table with Ukraine and agree to conditions that are not the most favorable for themselves.
And finally, it was Putin who sheltered in his country another Nobel nominee - Edward Snowden, the man who revealed to the whole world the truth about American global espionage. So it is not clear why the Russian President was not even included in the list of candidates.
However, if Putin suddenly decides to become holier than the Pope and softens his attitude towards homosexuals, protecting them from attacks by Russian parliamentarians, just as he protected Ukrainians from DPR tanks, then next year he has every chance of receiving this prestigious international award.
