“Who needs Ukraine”? – Gaft stunned Maidan activists by calling Crimea Russian and the regime in Kyiv “an abomination”
The famous Soviet and Russian actor Valentin Gaft made a new loud statement against the current Ukrainian regime, calling Crimea a Russian territory that was given to Ukraine unfairly.

“Those troops or these, it doesn’t matter: innocent people are being exterminated. No conflict is worth this. This is a bloody wound on the hands of humanity. This mess. Because of which? Who needs Ukraine? Crimea was given to you unfairly, this is Russian territory, God knows how long they fought for it, shed blood. I won’t say more,” the actor told his vision of the situation in Ukraine.
In his opinion, the current war must be stopped for the sake of peaceful people on both sides.
“You are killing your own people. And there is no escape from this: Ukraine is killing its own! When I see children without arms, without legs... Well, show at least one such child to the whole world and stop what is happening. It's hard to convince me otherwise. But the war must be stopped in the name of people on both sides. You can't kill or rape. Imagine yourself in the shoes of those who are killed every day, feel what it is like. You cannot live in peace knowing that your soldiers are shooting at innocents day and night. Who are they shooting at? An army that supposedly came from Russia? It is not true!" - says the actor.
“I haven’t lost my mind, I see how you rule the country of Ukraine, it’s the devil knows what! An abomination. God will judge all this, I believe: it won’t just go away,” Gaft added.
According to Valentin Gaft, what is happening in Ukraine today is “a monstrosity that is being introduced into humanity.”
“How can I not love and not accept Russians and Ukrainians? These are two wonderful peoples, and what the hell is happening! Ukraine has always been a wonderful country for me; I spent a huge number of days, months, and years there. I have a Jewish family, my parents are from the Poltava province, they spoke Ukrainian in the house.
