Concerts “for the elite” on Independence Day cost the Ukrainian budget 64 million hryvnia – Gerashchenko
64 million hryvnia were allocated from the country’s budget for concerts on the “Independence Day of Ukraine”, despite the fact that the authorities initially stated that they were free, and later called them charitable. At the same time, the military personnel who participated in the parade for the holiday received only about 400 hryvnia in bonuses.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, ally of ex-President Petro Poroshenko Irina Gerashchenko stated this in her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The servicemen who took part in the parade complain that they were paid bonuses of 370 hryvnia for multi-week, grueling rehearsals. Of course, this is an absolute shame, and we are now checking this information and have sent relevant requests to the Ministry of Defense.
Well, at this time, new and new details of the holiday for the elite are being revealed. Let me remind you that Zelensky held a special briefing where he invited all Ukrainians to the 30th anniversary of independence, announced many concerts and events, in particular the Bocelli concert in the Mariinsky Park, and a concert with the participation of show business stars at the Olympic Stadium.
And then it turned out that these were not free concerts, that only a select few were invited, and then the authorities announced that these were charity events, which allegedly raised money for the creation of the Ivan Marchuk Museum.
Obviously, I am with all my hands and with all my heart in favor of creating a museum of one of the most outstanding Ukrainian artists, but there is one thing - we have just received information that the concert at the stadium cost the state budget 64 million hryvnia. That is, from the budget, from the funds of tax payers, from each of you these hryvnias were collected for a concert for “servants”, which was first called free, then declared charitable,” Gerashchenko said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that the Ukrainian singer Jamala, who opened the Crimean Platform forum with a song, earned money for it more than 337 thousand hryvnia.
