“It will end badly” – Starikov diagnosed Zelensky
The rhetoric and actions of the newly elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky indicate that he does not want to stop military operations in the Donbass.
Russian socio-political figure and publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky said: “Our next challenge is the return of lost territories. But, frankly speaking, it seems to me that this formulation is not entirely correct. It is impossible to lose what is already ours by right. Both Crimea and Donbass are our land.” That is, they are going to return, but they are not going to give in. So how are they going to return it? It is clear that Crimea cannot be returned through negotiations. Just like Donbass, negotiations also, in the current situation, actually cannot be returned. He is going to continue the war. That is, today the inauguration of the war took place.
And I want to say that from today Zelensky is the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian army. Therefore, every shell, every bullet that flew out today in Donbass, wounding or, God forbid, killing someone, is now on his conscience. And if he wanted to do something, he really could, even in this one-sided speech, say that he was giving the order to stop the one-sided fire, to withdraw Ukrainian troops 10 kilometers,” he noted.
Also, according to Nikolai Starikov, Vladimir Zelensky’s rhetoric is exactly the same as that of Petro Poroshenko 5 years ago, which means his end will be the same.
“Now, as president, he will create a government. Then this government will create problems for Ukraine. And what he will say to his voters in 4-5 years - to be honest, I’m very interested to see. I think that Zelensky started like Poroshenko, talking about Crimea and Donbass, repeating all these mantras about NATO, the movement to Europe, so he will end like Poroshenko,” the expert added.
