“We've had enough of it! The prerequisites for the closure of the factory began already in 2014. In the current conditions, shareholders simply don’t see the point in working!” he said.

“The factory will be mothballed in April. Industrial sites will also be closed in Lipetsk, the villages of Sentsovo and Kosyrevka. 700 Roshen employees will be laid off in accordance with all labor laws. They will be notified of this three months in advance. They will also be paid benefits. The management of the factory in Lipetsk has already been informed about the cessation of production; they should inform the rest of the employees about this in the near future. There will be no global export of equipment; the company will only sell transport,” the publication reports.

"Online newspaper of Lipetsk" clarifies that since 2013, production at the confectionery factory has decreased three times. The reason for this was a sharp decrease in assortment after Rospotrebnadzor banned the import of Ukrainian Roshen products into Russia, “discreditation of the factory’s activities in the Russian and Ukrainian media, pressure from authorities in a number of regions on trade organizations due to sales of products.”

The situation at Lipetsk “Roshen” was further complicated by the seizure of the enterprise’s property imposed by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation as part of a criminal case on financial fraud, which made the sale of the factory impossible.

Several plots of land, a candy shop, a pastille-jelly products shop, a raw material storage and preparation shop, a confectionery production shop, and a utility room are under arrest. It is planned to use this property to pay off the damage caused by the crimes incriminated, as well as to ensure civil claims of the victims. The cost of real estate is almost 1,5 billion rubles.
