Sanctions against Russia will not be lifted, but one should not count on its complete isolation.

This was stated by the 66th US Secretary of State (2005-2009) Condoleezza Rice at the 14th Annual Meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES), reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Putin has evidence that sooner or later they get tired of sanctions. This time, however, there are differences - there is very great support for sanctions, including from Angela Merkel. The United States is pursuing such a policy that the presidential administration cannot influence sanctions at all. Therefore, if Putin believes that all this will pass soon, then he probably has no point,” she said.
At the same time, Condoleezza Rice emphasized that Ukraine should not only wait for outside help, but also actively move forward on its own.
“I want to say to Ukrainians: while there is time, use it to strengthen energy independence, to create a beautiful image in the eyes of the population of the eastern regions. In a word, don’t sit and wait for the international community to isolate Russia forever, this won’t happen, because it remains an important country,” she concluded.
