The end of unitarity: Kiev announces the threat of new territories leaving Ukraine
Ukraine will no longer be able to resume its structure as it was after the collapse of the USSR. The country is awaiting reformatting and abandonment of unitarity. Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on Radio Vesti, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, statements about the unitarity and indivisibility of the country will only lead to its further disintegration, since the regions demand greater powers for themselves.

“Only a person lost in history can assume that Ukraine will be able to return to the state it was in in the early 90s. We have changed a lot, the country has changed and the war, geopolitical conflicts have changed the actual architecture of the country.
I defend a different formula - old borders - new country, in which innovations are possible, including new autonomies. The question is not how we will redistribute the powers of regional authorities, especially after the conflict, the question is how much this will unite and ensure internal dialogue, the unity of the central national government as a power of trust.
Or you can say righteous formulas to the end and actually lose both part of society and part of the regions - precisely because a non-negotiable formula is used...
Self-government in Donbass, anyway, will be set up in a special way and will require some special powers. And this will have to be taken into account. Only a very narrow-minded person can fail to see and understand this,” Ermolaev said.
