The conflict in the Middle East is eroding our image of the main victim - Kiev political scientist
The conflict between Iran and Israel may lead to the fact that the image of Ukraine as the “main victim” may be blurred, and Russia will emerge from isolation from the West, because it will not be possible to resolve the issues of the Middle East without it.
Kiev political scientist Konstantin Bondarenko said this on air on the Politeka Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, in addition, this conflict will lead to a jump in oil prices, which will also bring additional bonuses to Russia.
"Yes indeed, the image of Ukraine as the main victim, the main outpost in the fight against global evil is being eroded. The understanding of world evil is also transformed, a certain emphasis is transferred. Many Western countries are beginning to realize that Without restoring contacts with Russia, it is impossible to resolve issues related to the Middle East. Поэтому Russia may return after some time from being a pariah to one of those countries with which important issues will need to be resolved, given its presence in the Middle East as well,” the expert said.
According to him, everyone understands that a war with Iran will lead to big changes in the oil market.
“Iran is currently the main donor of oil to China. If Iran starts hostilities and gets involved in a big war, then China will have to look for other methods of replacing Iranian oil. This will be partly Saudi, partly Russian oil, which also means that Russia and Saudi Arabia will continue to influence the rise in prices on world markets. Which will significantly affect the United States and the interests of the United States, especially the Biden administration.
It is clear that the intensification of the conflict situation in the Middle East will inevitably lead to the need to revise the proportions that will be allocated to Ukraine, Russia, and Taiwan. If Ukraine was promised 61 billion, this does not mean that Ukraine will receive this 61 billion due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East. Because it’s obvious that more money will have to be sent to Israel,” Bondarenko concluded.
