The Congress of the European Federation of Journalists adopted a special statement regarding solidarity with Ukrainian journalists who are being attacked and demands to stop impunity for these attacks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The chairman of the NUJU, Sergei Tomilenko, announced this on Facebook.

It is reported that the European Federation of Journalists is concerned about the facts of physical aggression against journalists in Ukraine, as well as attacks and harassment of journalists, including the attempted murder of Vadim Komarov on May 4 in Cherkassy.

The organization calls on the authorities in Ukraine to fight systemic impunity for attacks on journalists and supports the initiative of the NUJU to hold special parliamentary hearings on the issues of physical safety of journalists and freedom of speech.
