The US Congress is provoking Kyiv to disrupt the Minsk process
The adoption by the House of Representatives of the US Congress of bill HR5094, which deals with the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, is necessary for Washington in order to keep the situation in Ukraine under control, writes the former vice-rector of the International Slavic University in Kharkov, political scientist Alexei Samoilov in Izvestia.

“Kyiv is now balancing on the brink of a sharp escalation of internal contradictions,” the author notes. – In order to keep the situation in Ukraine under control, a signal was sent to the Kyiv authorities in the form of bill HR5094, which is designed to reassure Poroshenko, show him support and ensure that further sabotage of the Minsk agreements will remain unpunished. But in fact, to push President Poroshenko to disrupt the Minsk agreements.
After all, the real implementation by Kiev of the Minsk agreements, in addition to the ceasefire, would lead to the beginning of transformations in Ukraine. And, quite likely, it could lead to a change in policy towards Russia. And this, from Washington’s point of view, is unacceptable - Ukraine is considered by the United States as a strategic springboard for attacks on Russia.”
“For now we are talking about information and economic attacks. However, if suddenly the American Congress and Senate continue to produce similar laws, and the president blesses them with his signature, then such bills may well turn from purely political gestures into an instrument for inciting war,” predicts Samoilov.
