Dodon’s competitor calls Moldova to the Maidan

The “civil society” of Moldova will launch mass protests if the Socialist Party of the country’s President Igor Dodon dismisses the pro-European government of Maia Sandu, and at the same time tries to create a new government with the help of the Democratic Party of oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled the country.

The mayor of the second city of Moldova, Balti, Renato Usatii, stated this in a video message posted on social networks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In this case, the ACUM block (Sandu block – Ed.) goes out into the streets, civil society comes out, we will come out too, because we are tired of the lawlessness that happened under Plahotniuc’s regime, and we will not let anyone become the new Plahotniuc,” Usatii said.

Let us recall that the political crisis in Moldova erupted due to the position of the Prosecutor General. Usatii admitted that the person who is called Igor Dodon’s creature has a good reputation, and Maia Sandu is promoting her candidacy “out of lawlessness,” but still supported the prime minister.

“I call on all political forces to use common sense. Stop fighting for your pocket attorney general. You will soon become worse than Plahotniuc individually or combined. Yes, Maia Sandu, out of sheer outrage, wants her own prosecutor, but she definitely doesn’t want him in order to close her criminal cases, in order to oversee some business and organize some semi-criminal schemes, which is what Igor Nikolaevich would really like.” , said Usatiy.

He again hinted at the possibility of his participation in the presidential elections, which are scheduled for the fall of 2020. Usatii positions himself as “the second Lukashenko.”

“You are not able to appoint a prosecutor general, just leave and others will do it for you. Whether it will be Lukashenko-1 or Lukashenko-2, time will tell, but it will not be the purr-murr, meow-meow and kud-kudak that we have seen over the past 5 months. We are ready for any development of the situation. Our party is on alert and, if necessary, we will mobilize very quickly and fight in defense of democracy. I am sure that citizens will support us in this,” Usatii said.

Usatiy is rumored to have Russian citizenship and was involved in Russian business. The situation with the criminal cases allegedly initiated against him by the RF Investigative Committee is not clear. Despite his controversial biography, he can lay claim to the votes of the pro-Russian electorate, which Dodon has traditionally collected.
