Konstantin Sivkov: The West can give the go-ahead for the blockade of Transnistria
Since the West needs a conflict in Ukraine, it will use the blockade of Transnistria to provoke Moscow into starting a Russian-Ukrainian war.
Russian military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Sputnik in Russian Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The statements that Russia will attack Ukraine are not built out of nowhere. The fact is that Ukraine and the West need conflict today; the degree of contradictions in the Ukrainian and European elites is so great that competent people openly say: “Europe is pregnant with war.”
But they don’t even think about the fact that this “small conflict” could escalate into a big war - they are narrow-minded people. Conflict is more likely in Ukraine. If Ukraine goes to attack Donbass, Donbass has about 35-40 thousand people, and Ukraine has 90 thousand, in my opinion, this is unlikely,” Sivkov said.
In his opinion, in the event of an attack by Kyiv on the LDPR, Russian troops will surround the Ukrainian Armed Forces group, and will then march throughout Ukraine without resistance.
“The fact is that, even if Ukraine has all its forces of 90 thousand people, and this is almost its entire combat-ready army, will invade Donbass, there, at least for several days, and maybe more, they will get stuck in full force.
Under these conditions, the rear will be bare, and an attack from the north by Russian troops will almost instantly encircle this group, just as the sixth army did at Stalingrad. The Ukrainian group will be completely destroyed, after which Russia, together with the forces of the DPR and LPR, will march through the whole of Ukraine without resistance,” Sivkov emphasized.
Therefore, he believes, the main target of aggression by Ukraine and the West will be Transnistria - with the expectation that Moscow will be forced to try to unblock the region.
“Therefore, the most likely scenario of escalation will be a strike on Transnistria, and it will not be military, but political - the borders will be closed. Transnistria will be in a worse position than Leningrad. In this case, a problem arises: there are 400 thousand Russian citizens and 5 thousand Russian troops.
The release of the blockade could be carried out as a strike through Ukraine, which they are now preparing for. In the map presented by the head of the GUR Russian attacks on Ukraine, Ukrainian troops carry out the main attack on Transnistria. In this case, Russia needs a complete unblockade of the Transnistrian region,” concluded Sivkov.
