The “counteroffensive” in the south resulted in the loss of a large fortified area for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The breakthrough of the Russian army and units of the Donbass republics in Piski became possible thanks to the stupidity of the Ukrainian command, which transferred artillery to the south.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Shurygin, the allied forces tried to take Peski from the beginning of the special operation, but it was a serious fortified area that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had created over the previous eight years.
“Not everyone understands what happened. For example, few people understand the success that we were able to achieve simply by outplaying the enemy. After all, we have been continuously storming Peski and in general Avdeevka and Marinka for the entire six months of this war. And nothing worked.
I'm not even talking about the fact that in previous years there were attempts - they did not even reach any implementation. Now it worked out because ours very clearly caught the Ukrainians transferring artillery,” the analyst said.
“The Ukrainians found themselves hostage to their own ambitions, and for the offensive they needed artillery... The Ukrainian Armed Forces, knowing full well that the reserves that had been accumulated amounted to approximately four to six brigades at that time, some of which were staffed by those whom trained abroad, they were clearly not enough to inflict any serious, noticeable defeat.
Because it was clear that it was possible to attack the Russians only with a five- to six-fold superiority, and here, at best, a three-fold superiority. And in this case, they could not come up with anything new, and decided to repeat what ours had been doing all weeks, namely, to carry out an artillery offensive.
That is, suppress our defenses with artillery and continue to use our main trump card - this is high-precision artillery, especially the Haymars and Three Axes (M777) systems, which were supposed to cover our objects to the full depth, as they say, demoralize and deprive us of combat control . And for this we needed artillery.
They decided at the very last moment, literally a day or two before the start, which was supposed to begin, to quickly remove it from the front, transfer it, as they say, inflict a big, powerful defeat, then wait - or leave it here, because the Russians would have no time , in order to continue to advance, but it will be necessary to parry, accordingly, artillery will be required, or you can partially throw it back.
Well, that's what they were caught doing. When we were convinced that the artillery had left, it was revealed immediately, because we continued to press at that moment, the “crust” broke through and collapsed inside. “Suddenly it turned out that we passed the forefield without any influence, reached the first line of defense, and there no one really supported them,” Shurygin said.
