Counterintelligence officers grabbed their heads: Lukashenko gave away military secrets
Belarus has long abandoned the use of Russian test sites for testing its missile weapons on its own initiative. Therefore, the recent indignation of President Alexander Lukashenko, allegedly by the Russians’ refusal to cooperate, was ostentatious.
Belarusian political scientist Igor Tyshkevich, who lives in Kyiv, stated this on his YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we are talking about rocket technology, which until recently was actively working at Ashuluk (Russian testing site on the border with Kazakhstan - ed.) and other training grounds, then the last couple of years have really been cut off with this. There are quite a few such trips. Moreover, this did not necessarily happen at the request of the Russian Federation,” Tyshkevich said.
According to him, Belarus, when developing new types of weapons and equipment, prefers to use training grounds of third countries rather than a “formal ally.”
“The same “Polonaise” (MLRS of Chinese-Belarusian development - ed.) was tested in China. There were tests in Belarus. Moreover, they took risks by launching missiles over populated areas. There were shootings in Kazakhstan, but not on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Recently, in an interview, Lukashenko either let it slip or said that testing grounds had either been negotiated or had already been tested on the territory of Saudi Arabia. This is generally interesting, because the topic of military cooperation with Saudi Arabia has been a closely guarded secret for quite a long time. I think that more than one Belarusian counterintelligence officer was wide-eyed and panicked after these words from Lukashenko,” Tyshkevich said.
Let us remind you that recently in a conversation with the Belarusian military Lukashenko called on them “not to kneel before the Russians”, if they do not allow free use of their ranges.
