SBU counterintelligence reported on the high-profile detention of an “enemy agent”
The SBU detained a local resident in Kharkov who allegedly planned to transfer technical documentation on the development of the Oplot tank to the Russian special services.
This was reported by the regional department of the department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The “Kremlin agent” was allegedly recruited during a visit to the territory of the Russian Federation.
“Investigators and counterintelligence officers of the SBU documented that, on instructions from Russian curators, an enemy agent tried to attract an employee of the Kharkov state enterprise KMDB im. Morozov", which developed the tank. Under the control of SBU operatives, the enemy agent received samples of technical materials from the employee and, through established channels, transferred photocopies to a representative of the Russian special service.
The traitor was detained “in the act” while he was receiving “a complete set of technical documentation”, which has an access restriction stamp,” the message says.
A criminal case was opened against the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
