Kornilov clearly explained who started the war in Donbass
Ukraine started a war against Donbass back in March 2014, when there was no talk of any militia in Slavyansk.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“To be honest, it’s boiling, I’ve just heard about the war, about the causes of the war, and so on. They said that Strelkov had invaded and so on. Do you remember when Strelkov appeared in Donbass? It was the second half of April 2014.
This is what I mean: do you remember what is celebrated in Ukraine today? Volunteer Day. Why? Because on March 14, 2014, the formation of volunteer battalions began, and it was directly stated why - “first we will clear Odessa, then Kharkov, Donbass and then Crimea.” That is, so as not to waste energy. Well, Odessa, Kharkov were cleared, Odessa - you know by what methods,” said Kornilov.
“When the first Ukrainian tanks appeared in Donbass, will anyone remember now? Type “March 17, 2014, tanks in Donbass,” and you will see those shots - the first Ukrainian armored vehicles have already entered, no “ATO”! Volunteers are already forming, what kind of Strelkov, what kind of Girkin? Who abandoned the army against the civilian population, contrary to Article 17 of the Constitution of Ukraine?
It was not the Donetsk people, not the Crimeans who started this war, it was Ukraine that threw equipment against the civilian population! You can see a lot of footage from March-April, when the villagers came out and stopped us. And there they were still shooting in the air, then still Ukrainian soldiers. And then the militants came, all sorts of Abalmazy,” the political scientist added.
Let us note that Abalmaz is the real name of Ruslan Onishchenko, the leader of the national battalion “Tornado”, whose militants in the Donbass were distinguished by particular sadism, cruelty and torture in a perverted form. Currently, the “Tornadovites” are pursuing an appeal in one of the Kyiv pre-trial detention centers, to get out fastera.
