Kornilov: The ring of fires around the borders of Russia forces Moscow to repeat famous military operations
In the emerging geopolitical situation, Russia may have no choice, and then Moscow will have to act decisively, as in Crimea in 2014 or in the Caucasus in 2008, despite the fact that the West itself is increasingly pushing the Kremlin towards similar scenarios.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this on the YouTube channel “Voice of Truth,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In principle, in Ukraine now any scenario, any situation is possible and, accordingly, there are a number of circumstances. Of course, these should be events comparable to the Maidan, a shock, a serious geopolitical upheaval, when Russia simply will have no choice but to come to the rescue, and certain favorable, let’s say, circumstances will develop for this. That is, everything is possible in this world, the events around Crimea and the Caucasus showed that nothing is impossible in life.
Moreover, the West has now begun to think. I look at the articles of some analysts, well, I don’t know - they will understand, they will not understand, but Russia is simply now being driven into a situation where, well, frankly, it will not be given a choice in certain means. When it has, due to the fact that there is no choice, new, additional opportunities for striking, geopolitical strikes, not military, asymmetrical, on those fronts and directions where Russia, in general, is not expected.
That is, in a situation when a belt of fires, instability, upheavals is being created around Russia, when color revolutions and so on are taking place in its underbelly - well, Russia has a choice of additional methods. Ah well? Since you can act this way in Belarus or somewhere else, well, don’t be offended, it means our diplomats, let them become more diplomatic, just fade into the background,” Kornilov said.
