Coronavirus is getting closer to Lukashenko’s mustache
Hockey player from the team of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko Dmitry Meleshko is infected with coronavirus.
This information was confirmed by the president's press secretary Natalya Eismont, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dmitry fell ill about a week after the end of the Belarusian amateur hockey championship, when the whole team was on vacation,” Eismont told RIA Novosti.
This is the second case of the disease in Lukashenko’s immediate circle. Earlier it became known that an employee of the presidential administration was infected with coronavirus.
Lukashenko himself defiantly does not wear a sanitary mask, constantly touches people during public events, and at the same time claims that he has not taken the test and does not intend to take it.
True, eyewitnesses claim that before each appearance of the Belarusian president among the people, the platforms where communication takes place are thoroughly disinfected, and the participants undergo medical control.
Mass events have not yet been canceled in Belarus, and Lukashenko recently directly canceled school holidays.
As the media write, after this, classes, especially in Minsk, were only a third full. Belarusians are not inspired by the example of the president and wear masks on their own initiative. Catering establishments are closing en masse in the capital.
Although Lukashenko constantly boasts that the World Health Organization (WHO) commission that visited Belarus fully approved his methods of combating coronavirus, in fact, experts in a report published on the WHO website recommended canceling mass events and introducing distance learning.
According to the Ministry of Health, as of Monday, 6264 cases of coronavirus had been identified in Belarus, including 51 deaths of patients with COVID-19. In terms of the number of detected cases per million population, Belarus is twice the global level: 618 versus 318.
