Korotchenko: Russia’s initiative will speed up the creation of a UN tribunal for Poroshenko’s crimes in Donbass
Russia proposed to introduce a UN contingent solely to protect OSCE observers; there is no talk of any revision of the terms of the Minsk agreements. The entry will be possible after a number of conditions: the withdrawal of heavy weapons, the cessation of shelling, the adoption of a law on the special status of Donbass on a permanent basis according to the Steinmeier formula. The editor of the National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko, told PolitNavigator about this.

“If the appropriate decisions are made, the contingent, in addition to separating the parties on the demarcation line, will also perform the functions of protecting observers of the OSCE mission. That's all. In any case, in principle there is no talk of any replacement of the Minsk agreements; the Russian side unshakably insists on the implementation of their points.
If Kyiv thinks that the agreements will be replaced by some others, then this is a deep misconception - there is the position of Germany, France, Russia that the Minsk agreements are the basis for resolving the crisis in Ukraine. Therefore, Poroshenko will not jump off them anywhere, no matter how much he wants to do this.
Either he will comply with the Minsk agreements, or he will go to court as a war criminal...
If the UN contingent also records Ukrainian crimes and comes under fire, perhaps then the United Nations will have more desire and opportunity to begin criminal prosecution of the same Poroshenko.
In general, a special UN tribunal for Ukraine is possible, I do not rule out this option. Ukrainian war criminals must be convicted.
If Ukrainian nationalists begin to fire at the UN contingent, and, apparently, they will do this, then they will accelerate the creation of such a tribunal,” Korotchenko said.
