Korotchenko: “It’s not too late for Lukashenko to choose – an alliance with Russia or to The Hague”
The West may try to undermine the situation in “multi-vector” Belarus, which it cannot do if Minsk ends up truly in the Union State with Russia.
Editor-in-Chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko said this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Give or take 5-10 percent, but it is absolutely obvious that Lukashenko won legitimately. In order to deprive him of legitimacy, a color revolution scenario is being arranged. In these conditions, it seems to me that the futility of playing this card between Russia and the West has already become obvious to Lukashenko - it will not be possible to sit on two chairs.
The choice is very simple: either you are with Russia, and you are provided with a reliable rear, or you will be torn apart, or taken to The Hague. That's it, there is no other option. In these conditions, it is necessary to intensify the issue of moving forward along the roadmap for creating the Union State,” the expert said.
“You know, Alexander Grigorievich is studying, and we are studying - no problem. Are we partners for you? Okay, we respect your choice as the president of a sovereign state, but then let's build relations on an appropriate economic basis.
If we are, after all, strategic allies, we are moving forward along the path of the Union State. You can try to shake the situation in Belarus, it is impossible to try to shake the situation in the Union State. Still, Russia’s resources will not allow this to be done,” Korotchenko added.
