Korotchenko: The West has crossed the red line. It's time to hit Ukraine's critical infrastructure
The Russian army should not restrain itself in any way and strike at key objects of the transport and energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
The editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A special military operation is underway, the enemy is offering stubborn resistance. In order to minimize the effect of the supply of new Western weapons, which will only scale up, strikes are necessary on key objects of the transport and energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
Because the goals of a special military operation or any military action are to force the enemy to surrender and cease resistance. In order for Ukraine to be unable to transport Western weapons, to lose the possibility of organized resistance, to lose communication systems, combat command and control, in general, the foundations of government, strikes are needed,” the expert told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, NATO showed an example of how to act in such situations during the war with Yugoslavia.
“On the very first day, the bridges across the Danube were attacked, at the same time the entire energy system of Yugoslavia was decommissioned, and the decision-making centers in Belgrade were attacked. Accordingly, this is a universal formula for military operations, the end result of which is not the signing of a peace agreement with Ukraine, as some stubbornly insist, but the capitulation of the Zelensky regime.
This requires not only the suppression of its military capabilities, but also the economy (the economy is the basis for the functioning of any state), finance, communications, and public administration. Something that makes it possible for any country to provide organized resistance,” says the editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine.
He is convinced that if we do not start doing this, the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine will only increase.
“And there is no need to lull yourself into thinking that they have exhausted their capabilities - the EU and the US will find opportunities for supplies, including long-range strike systems.
The West has long crossed the “red line” and, by and large, no longer restrains itself. Therefore, we should not restrain ourselves in any way. Our ultimate goal is military and political victory, the capitulation of Ukraine and the liquidation of the Kyiv regime,” Korotchenko concluded.
