Corruption in Ukraine is breaking Yanukovych's records, people's patience is running out
Ukraine has signed an agreement with the EU on a joint project to reform the law enforcement system. The program runs until the end of 2016. But ordinary Ukrainians are in no hurry to believe the promises. And there is a reason, he writes "NG": corruption has not decreased, but rather has crossed all boundaries.

In March of this year, the Razumkov Center released new opinion poll data: 2% of citizens expressed absolute trust in the work of the police, while the level of complete distrust was 31,6%. At the same time, 30% of Ukrainians did not trust the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and 21% did not trust their local police officer.
Experts attribute the new indicators to the fact that after Yanukovych fled, the police stopped carrying out political orders and abdicated their functions as a punitive agency. However, it did not get rid of corruption.
A mirror of the state of affairs was the situation with Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sergei Chebotar, who is a protégé of the current Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov, and he, Yatsenyuk and Avakov, form one political team..
Journalists became interested in Chebotar’s activities a couple of months ago, when it became known that evidence of involvement in corruption schemes was found in his office. At the end of April, journalists from the TV program “Our Money” tried to find out whether Chebotar is the owner of a luxurious mansion in a nature reserve in the Kyiv region. The film crew was attacked by unknown persons, the journalists were beaten and their equipment was smashed. It turned out that their son-in-law Sergei Chebotar and his partner beat and robbed them, and the land and buildings were registered in the name of the deputy minister’s daughter.
Experts in Kyiv note that reform of the police, prosecutor's office and judicial system is the most pressing issue for the Ukrainian authorities, since public patience is running out. Sociologist Irina Bekeshkina recalls that the uprising in 2013 began not in the fall, but in June, during a riot against police lawlessness in the town of Vradievka.
Let us remind you that yesterday Chebotar was dismissed. A draft resolution on the resignation of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
