This opinion was expressed on the air of the talk show “Gravity” by the former head of the Bakhchisarai district state administration, Ilmi Umerov.
“Blasphemy is probably in the minds of the leaders of the Russian Federation, not only the leaders of Crimea. If Naryshkin came to unveil this monument, then it is clear that Naryshkin and Putin did not have it in their heads or thoughts that the Crimean Tatars were against it or anything else. They are so high in their thoughts, so far from reality, that they don’t even bother to think that someone in Crimea might be against it,” says a former senior Ukrainian official.
“Probably, now in Crimea there is no leader in Crimea who would initiate a criminal case against the village head. Unfortunately, Kunitsyn is not here today, there are other people who are managing the situation in Crimea,” Ilmi Umerov laments.
