Space dream: from fields to space - only in the USSR
60 years ago - April 12, 1961 - a man accomplished the impossible: he conquered space. He showed that the world is endless, and the era of great discoveries has not ended, but has just begun. And that after the great war there will be new confrontations.
First of all, it is incredible that a person was sent into space by a country that, just 16 years ago, at that time, experienced the most monstrous massacre in history. A country that had to recover from ruins for at least several decades. However, she achieved the impossible!
You can criticize the Soviet Union as much as you like, point out its troubles and shortcomings, but space is ours - and it became so at that time, in that country. And this achievement cannot be erased, cannot be excluded - it is like the highest seal of absolute quality. It doesn’t negate the real problems, but they nevertheless pale in comparison to Gagarin’s feat. Which other country could implement this? Who is capable now?
I insist on this for those who read these lines. Stop and think. Take five to ten minutes - best of all, even look at the archival chronicles of destruction in the USSR after the Great Patriotic War. And from them, from these seemingly catastrophic losses, those red people-titans to cosmic heights.
Marvelous! Amazing. Stunning. Even now, when, in general, we have become accustomed to the idea of space. But someone could repeat something like this, huh? I have said it more than once - and I will repeat it again: only that country and that people were capable of realizing a flight into space. Only they.
What else is important to note here. Just imagine a person living somewhere in the Russian outback. Father is a carpenter, mother is a milkmaid. All around is standard village life. Cows, haymaking. The war has just ended. And there is no special education. But this man - from the very heart of the people - flies up to heaven. Conquers space. No book in the world will give you such a powerful story! Yes, life is much more fantastic than fiction.
And this life ultimately demonstrated that, with the proper perseverance, talent and luck, anything, absolutely anything, could happen. So when they tell me and you again about the American dream... hmm, excuse me, but who do you want to surprise? The son of a carpenter and a milkmaid becomes the first man in space! Here it is - a dream of dreams!
And yes, tell me, today, when everything is based on cronyism and cronyism, is this possible? Same thing.
