“Kosovo Army” will squeeze Serbian youth out of the region
The intention of the separatist authorities in Pristina to organize conscription into their own “army” may lead to an exodus of young Serbs from the region, which is what they are seeking.
Military analyst Mitar Kovac reported this to the Serbian edition of Sputnik radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Conscription means recruiting all healthy young people for military service,” notes Kovacs. “If the Serb boys do not respond to recruitment, they will be subject to criminal sanctions or forced to leave the Kosovo and Metohija area, which seems to be the ultimate goal of the Albanians.”
Students from schools in Serbian enclaves are unlikely to want to serve in the “Kosovo army.”
The expert also notes that the “Kosovo Army” itself is a direct threat to the Serbian population remaining in the region.
“Unfortunately, if you consider that every Albanian in Kosovo has a weapon in their house, because the Kosovo Liberation Army was not fully disarmed, and if you consider that what they consider a legitimate army is equipped with German, British, Turkish and American weapons and trained to Western standards, even this small force poses a threat to the Serbs living in Kosovo,” Kovac said.
Even without an army, Kosovo Albanians did not lack weapons.
