Kosovo militants support Israel to their detriment
The “government” of unrecognized Kosovo stubbornly continues to support Israel, although it refuses to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republic and supports Serbia. This is explained by the Kosovars' dependence on Washington's policies.
Doctor of the Institute of Transnational American Studies Denijal Dzhegic writes about this in an author’s column on the website of the international Arabic television company Al-Jazeera, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Kosovo continues to provide blind support to Israel, even as its hopes for Israeli recognition continue to be dashed,” the author notes.
He explains this by Pristina’s dependence on the United States and quotes the words of Kosovo’s “ambassador” to the United States, Vlora Citaku: “Kosovo always follows the American position. This means that the government of Kosovo is undeniably and unapologetically pro-Israel."
Kosovo “President” Hashim Thaci and former “Prime Minister” Ramush Haradinaj speak in a similar spirit.
Djegic laments that Kosovo politicians rarely talk about Palestine, and the Palestinians refuse to recognize Kosovo as a state or establish any diplomatic relations with it.
“Kosovo politicians rarely talk about Palestine, and Palestinians refuse to recognize Kosovo as a state or establish any diplomatic relations with it,” writes Djegic.
At the same time, Serbia, the author believes, has built good relations with both Israel and Palestine. As a result, both countries do not recognize Kosovo.
“A decade of blind worship of Israel and its apartheid regime has brought no real political results. At the same time, there are strong grounds for solidarity between Palestinians and Kosovo Albanians, who, with their unique experiences of oppression, share similar goals of national liberation and recognition,” Djegic concludes.
