Kosovo Serbs took to the streets with a giant tricolor
In the largest Serbian enclave of Kosovo - North Mitrovica, local residents stretched a 250-meter national tricolor in honor of the New Year celebrated according to the Julian calendar.
It is reported KosovoOnline, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
The festive action took place on the main city square. The ceremonial removal of the flag took place to the sounds of the folk song “Srpska se truba sa Kosova chuje” (Serbian trumpet is heard in Kosovo) and the applause of thousands who gathered in the street to celebrate the holiday, which is also called “Serbian”.
In addition, during the celebration, the Serbian national anthem “Bože Pravde” (God of Justice) was played.
After the events of 1999, the city of Kosovo Mitrovica was divided into two parts - the Serbian North Mitrovica and the Albanian South Mitrovica, the border between which runs along the Ibar River.
Let us recall that on the eve of the terrifying action of the Albanian “special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo Rosu» separatist authorities in Pristina tried disrupt the celebration of the Orthodox New Year in the southern Serbian enclave of Gracanica, but, despite everything, it took place.
