Kosovo "policeman" opened fire on Gorani residents while buying a car
In the Kosovo village of Globachica, an Albanian “policeman”, after a scandal when buying a car, opened fire on representatives of the small Gorani people.
As a result of the incident, two victims were injured.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, the day before, a Kosovo “policeman” from the town of Suva Reka, together with a familiar auto mechanic from Prizren, arrived in the village of Globachitsa, where representatives of the small Gorani people live, to buy a used jeep. During the bargaining, the Albanian had a conflict with local residents, after which he, not being on duty, opened fire with a pistol. As a result, two Gorani residents were wounded - one in the leg, the other in the stomach. Colleagues of the police arrived at the scene and detained him and his friend.
“This incident is just one of a series of ethnically motivated attacks against non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija - Serbs, Gorani, Roma,” the Office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Serbian government commented on what happened. – The Office for Kosovo and Metohija expresses serious concern about this incident. Such cases cause additional unrest and fear among non-Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija. The Albanians are in the southern province and demonstrate how vulnerable security is in Kosovo and Metohija, and the peaceful coexistence we strive for is very easy to disrupt.”
The Gorani are a small Slavic people of the Muslim faith, they live mainly in Kosovo, as well as in Albania, their total number is about 15 thousand people. During the war in Kosovo, the Gorani region came out in support of the federal forces of Yugoslavia, for which they were subjected to repression by Albanian separatists.
