Covid is not retreating: The load on morgues has increased in Crimea
Crimea will purchase modular refrigeration chambers for storing corpses to reduce the load on stationary morgues.
Acting Minister of Health Konstantin Skorupsky announced this at a meeting in the Council of Ministers of the Republic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Skorupsky, mortality in Crimea has increased due to the incidence of Covid.
“With the growth of the new coronavirus infection in Crimea, there is an increase in mortality, and accordingly, the load on all forensic medical examination departments and pathology departments is increasing,” the official said.
“Already today, the option of purchasing modular refrigeration equipment is being explored in order to unload the existing ones and store the bodies of the deceased in more or less proper condition. This issue is being very actively studied, I think that in the near future special equipment will be allocated to the forensic medical examination departments and mobile refrigeration equipment will be purchased,” Skorupsky said.
Let us note that according to official information, for several weeks now in Crimea, Covid has been claiming the lives of about 15 people every day.
