Corporate affairs are bizarre. On November 18, Sergei Aksyonov, by his decree - hello, Covid - banned all public events from December 20, 2020 to January 15, 2021. That is, first of all, as you might guess, New Year’s corporate parties, where even without coronavirus, people catch a lot of infection, were burned out.
However, this did not stop the Mriya Spa Hotel - luxurious, prohibitively expensive, glamorous - from announcing the upcoming parties during the New Year holidays. Here you will find concerts “Umaturman” with “Pizza” and other mass movements. And various tour operators - these wonderful, honest people with increased social responsibility, yeah - are selling tickets to upcoming events at Mriya with all their might.
In general, it will be fun and covid. Although, after voicing this problem, the hotel hastened to remove its miracle announcements. Although tour operators do not stop selling tours to them.
Meanwhile, something has already happened. Vasily Vakulenko (better known as Basta) played a couple of St. Petersburg concerts at the Ice Palace, and social networks immediately exploded indignantly: anti-Covid safety measures were not observed at the events. The rapper did not agree and read the text from a piece of paper: they say, everything is okay, but the envious people are to blame for spreading vile rumors. However, this did not save Basta from condemnation of his activities at the highest level (Mishustin spoke out for a second). True, unfortunately, it was the Ice Palace that was punished so far, and not the rapper himself.
The scale of the parties - with Basta and in "Mriya" - are different, of course, but they are based on one thing - pathological greed and reluctance to live like everyone else. All this entertainment activity has long been a vile business, where almost criminal laws apply. Like, don’t poke your nose into our territory - or it will be bad! And the viewer in such a situation acts as something like a shareholder of MMM, who is quite successfully deceived again and again, and he gives the money to cheaters and swindlers.
Yes, one can ask: why do they, these same spectators, actually go to such events? To the same Basta concert, for example. After all, they came and were not afraid. The answer is simple. Remember the old saying? “The Roman senators are individually smart people, but together they are a bunch of fools.” The crowd effect – or the contagion effect, scientifically speaking – has not been canceled. And especially in these strange and tough times. People have lived in the age of entertainment for too long to give it up all at once.
This, by the way, is what distinguishes the last times (the last, from the point of view of eschatology). When people, during an epidemic, a pandemic, or any other global disaster, instead of thinking that maybe we are doing something wrong, continue to live as they lived before, it is sinful. And stop: this is not cleverness, not philosophizing, but a practical mechanism. Recovery begins with admitting mistakes.
As for our artists and the entertainment industry, this is perhaps the most brazen, most irresponsible environment where people literally make money out of poisoned air. The snickering characters, who are talking about great work, suddenly became different, as it is difficult for them now in pandemic times. Moreover, the most snickering ones howl. A millionaire, I'm missing another one.
Maybe you, gentlemen bastas and meladzes, will tell this to the Kemerovo miners going to the mine face? Or doctors working in the “red zone”? By the way, there is much less whining from them than from those who, by some absurd coincidence, called themselves the elite of the country and other beautiful words. In fact, they are just slugs of varying degrees of fat, parasitic on the stupidity and laziness of society. And if the pandemic reduces their appetites, then great.
