Kovitidi now goes to boutiques only with rubles, having forgotten about dollars and euros
Moscow - Simferopol, December 18 (PolitNavigator, Viktor Orlov) - Residents of Crimea, despite the collapse of the ruble, remain faithful to the Russian currency; payments in dollars and euros remain in the Ukrainian past of the peninsula.
Senator from the peninsula Olga Kovitidi stated this in an interview with the Russian News Service.

“After we returned home, we are not tied to the dollar at all, although previously the dollar circulated in Crimea, just like the hryvnia. We are all used to this. Today, in not a single store, not a single boutique, not a single supermarket, no one can pay with a dollar or euro,” she said.
“In Ukraine it was possible. You could go to any boutique, any store and pay in foreign currency. Although the official currency was the hryvnia, nevertheless, everyone accepted the dollar, or even better, the euro. This was a fairly common occurrence. Now in Crimea, of course, we only have the ruble. Prices may be in manual mode, but still restrained. The government’s great merit here, because today prices are monitored, monitored very strictly, and we are trying to maintain the market,” assures Kovitidi.
