Kovitidi detected teams of secret anti-Russian “patriot bots”
Russia’s enemies launch entire teams of so-called “bots” on social networks that are engaged in destabilizing the situation, including in Crimea, where the population had inflated expectations of improvements after reunification with the Russian Federation.
Olga Kovitidi, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, senator from the Republic of Crimea, stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Teams of bots are appearing that do not hide behind anti-Russian sentiments - no, not in any way. These are teams of patriotic bots, these are multi-level teams that say: “We are for Russia, but we are not for the Russia that exists today.”
The points of application of their forces are quite large, the directions are: inciting ethnic hatred, the Crimean Tatar issue is being raised, the issues of the Jews, the opposition between Orthodoxy and Muslims are being raised correctly.
The organization of separatist sentiments has always existed and, if we talk about Crimea, Crimea most clearly demonstrates all those processes that exist today, because there has always been a dissatisfied protest electorate, in Crimea there was less of it, because the people sought to go to Russia, it is natural that when people want to get somewhere, they have a very high bar for what is expected, everyone wants to get everything today and at once, this is understandable, it is understandable and, naturally, today the concept of a protest electorate, working with a protest electorate is inherent not only in Crimea, it is inherent today in Russia as a whole ", Kovitidi said.
“If we use the experience of Ukraine, and we, the Crimeans, have it, this is how we differ from other citizens of the Russian Federation, we remember how it happened on the Maidan, we remember how information networks were the impetus for the growth of protest sentiments, we remember how the authority of the authorities was undermined, that any representative of the authorities is bad,” the senator noted.
