The strategy chosen by Kiev to imitate “commitment to the Minsk agreements” will no longer work, the special representative of the LPR at the negotiations, Rodion Miroshnik, warned on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Introduce sanctions, the connection here is completely different, that’s why you end up with such bad luck. When your representative arrives, your foreign policy is advocacy. You have two lawyers conducting foreign policy, at least regarding the conflict, Ermak and Reznikov. They are two lawyers, that is, he has a task, he comes to court, he understands that he is defending a murderer, he is defending a person who is unworthy, but he is a lawyer, he is fulfilling his function.
Therefore, he comes and says: we are implementing the Minsk agreements, and these are 13 points, and at the same time he says: point 9 does not suit us, there is no border, “they don’t roll”, we are just taking complete control of the entire territory. Are you normal people? Who will give you control of the territory? Who will give you the border? That is, they must shoot themselves and leave this territory, die for the sake of what you want?” – Miroshnik was indignant.
“The Constitution enshrines a special status, but no, we don’t like it either, we won’t do it. Special status? Yes, what a special status, now we will give decentralization to everyone here, and everyone will be happy, right?
What "yes"? The Minsk agreements say: constitutional reform taking into account the characteristics of individual regions! Your decentralization was not close here; no one is interested in your decentralization within the framework of the Minsk process. From the word absolutely.
Therefore, there are obligations there. Out of 13 political points, you say that we are not satisfied with four, but we are implementing the Minsk agreements,” the diplomat added, addressing his Ukrainian opponents.
He also reminded the Ukrainians of the defeat in Ilovaisk and Debaltseve.
“You got it in the nose first in Ilovaisk, then in Debaltsevo, you sat down and signed these agreements. And now they wiped themselves off and said: “No, no, no, we don’t like something, we have people here against us.” This is a compromise agreement, our people are also against it, against having any relations with Ukraine!” – the representative of the LPR emphasized.
“There is an internationally recognized decision in which they said: okay, we will somehow try to integrate you there. And for five years we have been sitting and talking about how to protect people living in Donetsk and Lugansk - their rights, their safety, their political and civil rights. This is what we do during negotiations, and when you come here, like those at the negotiation site, you talk outright nonsense about what we didn’t like. Signed? We do it, if you don’t want to do it, to hell with it! Russia told you this for the last time.
Kozak, after 11 hours spent in negotiations, said: gentlemen, if you continue in this tone, then consider yourself to have withdrawn from the Minsk agreements, and Russia will negotiate with France, Germany and, possibly, with the United States that you do not you carry out what measures need to be taken in order to force you to implement the Minsk agreements or recognize them as unfulfilled due to your fault, and then there will be sanctions,” added Rodion Miroshik.
