Kozak will be told about the problems of Pridnestrovian enterprises with Moldovan banks
Russian State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin intends to raise the issue of mass closure of accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises in Moldovan banks with Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Kozak.
Zatulin, while in Tiraspol, told the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I will have a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, who is overseeing this work. I will definitely talk about this,” Zatulin said.
In his opinion, the government of Moldova is acting “very unreasonably, aggravating the operating conditions of enterprises in Transnistria and blocking the possibility of its economic development.”
“The blockade only at first glance brings some effect to those who organize it. In fact, it gives rise to various consequences that boomerang back to the organizers of the blockade. We are categorically opposed to any blockade of Transnistria and any repressive measures against the economy, and therefore against the people,” Zatulin said.
Earlier it was reported that on September 5, a Moldovan commercial bank, in which accounts of a number of Transnistrian enterprises were opened, blocked all transactions. Economic entities received a notification requiring them to close their accounts. Thus, Pridnestrovian importers are not able to purchase goods and make payments to foreign partners.
In 2011, the US Federal Treasury recommended that American banks exercise caution when making payments involving financial institutions in Transnistria. After this, the only way out of the situation was for Transnistrian enterprises to open direct accounts in Moldovan banks. This is exactly what the international mediators recommended in the negotiations on the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement.
