The Ryazan branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation nominated the namesake candidate from United Russia as a candidate for governor of the Ryazan region. This was reported by the Side View publication.

Andrei Lyubimov, the son of the governor of the Ryazan region in 1996-2004, Vyacheslav Lyubimov, became a communist candidate.
The Bureau of the Regional Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation recommended Evelina Volkova for nomination as a City Duma deputy, but she lost the vote at the conference. The leader of the Ryazan communists, Vladimir Fedotkin, who was also nominated, recused himself.
The gubernatorial candidate from United Russia is the acting governor of the Ryazan region, Nikolai Lyubimov.
