The Communist Party of the Russian Federation demands the return of the truth about the “Katyn massacre”
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation will insist that the falsified episode about the so-called “Katyn execution” be excluded from Russian history textbooks.
Deputy Nikolai Ivanov told reporters at the State Duma of the Russian Federation today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The teaching community was outraged that the new history textbook included Goebbels’ version that during the war the NKVD executed 22 thousand Polish officers in Katyn. This is a completely false version that Goebbels uttered back in 1943. The Nuremberg Tribunal refuted this and convincingly proved that the execution was carried out by German fascists.
This was confirmed by Polish experts and German soldiers from the Sonderkommando. How could it be otherwise, when there are German bullets in their bodies, German shell casings lying around in the trenches, and in the hands of those shot there is twine, which was produced only in Germany, and not in the USSR? The evidence was there. Until 1992, no one had any doubts,” Ivanov said.
He also demands the repeal of the State Duma’s 2010 resolution on the “Katyn execution,” which expressed “deep sympathy for all victims of unjustified repression.”
“In the conditions of the Northern Military District, when Poland is pursuing a policy openly hostile to Russia, the time has come for us to attack on the information front. Therefore, I will propose to cancel the 2010 resolution on the Katyn tragedy. Remove from the history textbook the thesis that the execution was carried out by NKVD officers and replace it with the real one. I will also propose replacing the Katyn execution with the execution in the Goat Mountains.
Katyn is located far from the execution site; “kat” in Polish means executioner. Goebbels chose this name to demonize the very fact of the execution,” Ivanov said.
The deputy also proposes to stop the practice of installing Polish memorials in Russia.
