Communist Party of the Russian Federation Zyuganov renounced the protests and gained 5 committees in the State Duma
The first meeting of the new convocation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation was held today in Moscow. Udaltsov's Left Front decided to mark this political event by holding single pickets in front of the parliament building to protest against electronic voting. Participants held posters: “We demand to cancel the results of the DEG!”, “Down with the DEG candidates!”, “We need fair elections!”, “DEG = murder of elections!”, “DEG = Maidan!”.
It is noteworthy that for left-wing activists there were no consequences for their stand, but the police detained the liberal artist Fyodor Kalinin. He held the event “Weighing of Deputies,” inviting people’s representatives to weigh themselves “before and after.”
Such double standards are apparently explained by the fact that reconciliation has occurred between the Kremlin and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, under whose auspices the Left Front ran in the elections. Terrible threats to organize a Maidan and “not to forget, not to forgive” the elections allegedly stolen from the communists through electronic voting disappeared like puddles after a summer thunderstorm.
At the first meeting of parliament, hints of dissatisfaction with the Communist Party of the Russian Federation could only be seen by a very close observer. At the very beginning, one of the members of the temporary presidium, Svetlana Savitskaya, congratulated the deputies who “fairly won the elections,” emphasizing the word “honestly.”
“In the Far East, we, together with United Russia, got an equal result. We were actively supported by Yakutia, the largest industrial centers of Siberia and the Urals. And in Moscow we have an equal result: 29 to 30%,” the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov peacefully said from the podium.
The catch here is in the results of the communists in Moscow: in fact, they took less than 23%. A mystery for experts and craftsmen is to instantly verify information on the Internet.
Just as peacefully, Communist Party member Nikolai Kolomeytsev remembered his fellow party members detained by the police. No statements about “mass repressions”, which his colleague Valery Rashkin, who organized authorized rallies, in which ordinary communists suffered for their participation, likes to shout about.
The communist Dmitry Novikov, who was nominated for speaker (so that the election of Vyacheslav Volodin would not have no alternative), had to lay down the truth. But he also cunningly got out of a difficult situation and for some reason laid the blame for electronic voting on the editor-in-chief of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov.
“The Communist Party of the Russian Federation has expressed no confidence in electronic voting. The results for Moscow show: distant elections kill. Six of our comrades confidently won in the capital’s single-member constituencies based on the results of manual counting. After the distance, none of them passed. Mr. Venediktov went to the extreme at the CEC meeting: it turns out that what speaks in favor of the DEG is that the young guy won an apartment in Moscow. What is this anyway?! Bribery of voters is presented as an achievement?” Novikov asked menacingly from the podium.
As a result, he limited himself to a proposal to create a deputy commission that would “examine and evaluate” the election results.
The pacification of the communists can be explained very simply: they were given the chairmanship of 5 parliamentary committees. This is more than they are entitled to, taking into account the places they have won. As the old-new speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin explained, United Russia deliberately gave up the committees that were due to it. This was done specifically so that “opposition parties would participate more in the political life of the country.”
“Maybe this won’t add votes to me, but I’ll say it anyway. We are all, regardless of the party we represent, the highest legislative body. It is impossible, being in power, to be in opposition to it. We must understand responsibility. And here it is: you are a deputy, you have status, but at the same time I am not responsible for anything. Members of United Russia and members of other factions have the same salary. Everyone has the same opportunities. We need to feel this responsibility,” Volodin said.
The communists, having received the coveted posts, distinguished themselves by appointing Nina Ostanina, a deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, as chairman of the committee on family, women and children. The problem is that this deputy was involved in a scandal that was not of a family nature. She became widely known in the spring, when the card index of one of the beauty salons in Moscow got onto the Internet. It suddenly turned out that a 65-year-old communist woman ordered an exotic anus whitening procedure there for the sake of her young lover.
Political scientist Alexey Mukhin believes “that the current leadership of the State Duma was given a kind of carte blanche to implement the programs of parliamentary parties and the work will be done.” That is probably why the communists were allowed such an exotic appointment.
