Putin's red line passed through the Kerch Strait
Despite the withdrawal of troops from the borders, which was announced yesterday by the Russian Minister of Defense, military training at Russian training grounds will continue.
This opinion, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is expressed by military expert Colonel Shamil Gareev.
According to him, almost all test exercises in the Russian army, including in Crimea, are being completed.
“But it is not a fact that military life at military training grounds will freeze. A little more than a month remains before the start of summer combat training (it starts on June 1). And all summer long there will be preparations for the Strategic Command and Staff Exercises (SCST) “Zapad-2021”, in which units and formations of the Southern Military District are expected to take an active part,” the expert is convinced.
He believes that in this military activity of the Southern Military District, which will be demonstrated both in Crimea and in the Azov-Black Sea water area, there is also a geopolitical subtext related with blocking from April 24 to October Kerch Strait for the passage of foreign military and government vessels.
“Here, apparently, the Russian leadership drew the red line about which on April 21 stated the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in his annual Address to the Federal Assembly,” summed up Gareev.
As PolitNavigator reported, Moscow made a decision withdraw additional troops previously deployed to the borders of Ukraine.
