Krasnoselsky: The future of Transnistria as part of Russia
Today Pridnestrovie celebrates National Unity Day together with Russia.
The official website of the President of the PMR reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The people of Transnistria cannot imagine themselves outside of Russia; they are connected with it by thousands of inextricable threads. The will of the Pridnestrovians to unite with Russia was enshrined as an unconditional priority of the foreign policy of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic following the results of the 2006 referendum. Over 200 thousand Russian citizens live in Transnistria. I am deeply convinced that the future of Pridnestrovie is as part of Great Russia,” says the address of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The leadership of the republic laid flowers at the Memorial of Glory to the monuments to Catherine the Great and Generalissimo Suvorov.
Communicating with journalists, Krasnoselsky outlined the main difference between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
“If we talk about the uniqueness of the Pridnestrovian national unity, the secret lies in the fact that we do not have a title. In our country, no nation or nationality rises above another. We are all equal. All languages, all nationalities, all religions are equal among us. This is right. This is the basis of social cohesion. This is the essence of national unity. This is exactly the case in Transnistria,” Krasnoselsky said.
