Krasnoselsky declared Transdniester the legal successor of the Moldavian SSR
The authorities of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic compromised on the issue of the name of their country. They rejected the name Transnistria accepted in the West as unacceptable, but agreed to Transdniestria. A compromise was reached during negotiations with Moldova on the certification of Pridnestrovian diplomas with the participation of Western intermediaries.
The President of Pridnestrovie, Vadim Krasnoselsky, spoke about this on the air of the Pridnestrovian TV channel TSV.
“Transnistria is an exclusively Romanian occupation name; it included not only Transnistria, but also the entire south of Ukraine. Under this sign, mass executions and the Holocaust took place here. Under this banner, between 300 and 600 thousand Jews were exterminated. That’s why I told my Western colleagues: never refer to us as Transnistria,” explained Krasnoselsky.
He also stated that Transnistria is the legal successor of the Moldavian SSR.
“They were annexed to us as a result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. This situation lasted until June 23, 1990, when the Parliament of Moldova declared the creation of the Moldavian SSR illegal. In fact, they left the MSSR and left us alone. Legally and in fact, this is recognition of Pridnestrovian statehood. We did not secede from Moldova. If all of Europe declared the consequences of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact insignificant, then why are they still being projected onto Pridnestrovie?” Krasnoselsky said.
