The “Red Mayor” is running for a second term in the third city of Russia
The Novosibirsk regional committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation nominated the current mayor of the city, Anatoly Lokt, as a candidate for the position of mayor. This was reported by the press service of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The decision to nominate Lokot was made by secret ballot; his candidacy was unanimously supported by all delegates of the reporting and election conference.
“Our “red mayor” knows exactly what needs to be done in the next five-year period, all decisions were made together with the citizens, and therefore this is a common decision. What have you achieved? In material terms, this means attracting investments, solving the problems of shareholders, building kindergartens and schools. Why did everything work out? Because Anatoly Evgenievich managed to consolidate everyone to solve the common problems of the city, and this, believe me, was the most difficult task, and he coped with it,” said State Duma deputy Vera Ganzya.
“We have a very difficult task ahead, difficult, because the elections in Novosibirsk are competitive,” she added.
“I am grateful to my comrades for their support... We will not reach an agreement by trading the interests of Novosibirsk residents,” Lokot himself assured.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that the current mayor of Novosibirsk, communist Anatoly Lokot, despite serious competition, has high chances win the election campaign and remain in office for a second term.
Novosibirsk ranks third in the Russian Federation in terms of population, is developing at a metropolitan pace and has increased its development budget fivefold over the year.
Novosibirsk authorities expect that An additional stimulus in the development of the city will be provided by the implementation of the “Akademgorodok 2.0” project – Previously, President Vladimir Putin supported the creation of a modern scientific center, which provides for the creation of thousands of new jobs in the city.
