“Red lines” to the ears: Tymoshenko figured out how to reach Zelensky and “save Ukraine”
The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky can be significantly helped if he does not stop talking about “red lines” - until he begins to feel these lines.
As a result, he will no longer be able to cross them at the meeting in the Normandy format.
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Batkivshchyna party Alena Shkrum stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We should talk about “red lines” before negotiations, even if not directly with representatives of the “Servant of the People” and certainly not with the president, but, believe me, such a discussion establishes a certain vision of “red lines” in society, and in fact it helps anyone the president, and, according to my information, even this criticism helps Mr. Zelensky.
Because he, feeling the “red lines” before the negotiations, will not be able to cross them,” Shkurum said.
“Official direct negotiations with representatives of the LPR and DPR just emphasize Russia’s argument, which may seem funny to us, but, believe me, for the world it is not black and white.
Russia's argument that we have a civil war is something they consistently say in open and closed meetings. And any official conversations indicate that we have someone to talk to, that these are not tame Russian people on strings, whom they change - whenever they want, they appoint, give instructions.
There are closed communication negotiations that Ukraine once demonstrated, where the Kremlin gives instructions, Russian career military personnel, Russian volunteers who are not regular military personnel because they were laid off on leave - we have all this evidence, we need to collect it even more carefully, everything this needs to be shown!
Therefore, for me, the “red line” is direct official negotiations - this is what Russia demands.
Informal negotiations - maybe I’m not an intelligence specialist, maybe something should be happening here,” says Shkrum.
In addition, according to her, you need to be prepared for “the worst case scenario - this is introducing the capitulation on Minsk into the legislative field.”
“This is when Pan Zelensky, not understanding the importance of national interests or the demands that Russia puts forward, will come and say: “It’s okay,” will continue the law on the special status of Donbass for another year and make changes to the Constitution, in the first and second readings, and write down that Donbass has a special status for centuries.
This is a nuclear bomb that will be planted throughout history, for a long time. Plus, this story will definitely stir up a patriotic society, and under our Rada it will not be like it was then, under Pyotr Alekseevich, when two guys were killed, but there will be much more,” Shkrum shared her fears.
Meanwhile, she stressed that it is necessary to continue to use any opportunities to accuse Russia of “aggression” in international forums.
“We have colleagues who support us - Great Britain and the USA. Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are more or less our friends.
There are colleagues who no longer support us, or who are absolutely calmly negotiating with Russia. For example, France is a strategically important and very complex country for us.
There were a bunch of Macron’s statements that were not helpful,” Tymoshenko’s ally added angrily.
