Kravchuk made an unexpected statement on Crimea
Ukraine must end the blockade of Crimea and resume water supplies to the peninsula.
The first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the former guarantor of the state, this should not be done for free, as in the issue of Ukraine’s purchases of gas from the Russian Federation.
“This issue needs to be resolved. If Ukraine solves it wisely, I don’t think we should give water to Crimea for free, it cost us a lot - the canal and all these systems... We can’t now say: “We will serve” - this is a big expense. Everything needs to be counted. We buy gas from Russia. Cutting off the water is beyond the red line,” Kravchuk said.
Let us recall that in the spring of 2014 Ukraine cut off the water supply to Crimea via the North Crimean Canal.
As PolitNavigator reported, the representative of the President of Ukraine said that water will go to Crimea along with the Ukrainian army.
Moreover, in Ukraine Russian tourists were named “low-grade drinking public” and colonialists who drink almost all the fresh water in Crimea.
