Kravchuk: The United States will not be able to live without vassal Ukraine and will overwhelm us with money
Ukraine should be the same anti-Russian item on the world agenda as the poisoning of the Skripals, said former President Viktor Yushchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Remember the Skripal case. When 29 countries responded to this incident, when 154 Moscow diplomats were expelled from these states, the issue rose on the political agenda of the whole world for several months. This forced the world to react differently to Russia's policies.
When we talk about our case, the situation is similar. If we take steps that put this issue on the agenda as issue No. 1, we will have many friends and tools. And if this issue is outside the political sphere, then, unfortunately, this road will not be easy,” Yushchenko said.
His colleague, the first president of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, added that the key to success is to be useful to the United States.
“In 1996 in the United States, I sat at the same table with the CEO of General Motors. Just then we were deciding the issue of atomic weapons, and there was a crisis in Mexico.
American newspapers wrote that in one night Mexico was given a loan of $45 billion from the US Reserve Fund. And they kept saying that “Ukraine was given 700 million for nuclear disarmament.”
I tell the director: “45 billion, and you are silent, but 700 million, and you speak so loudly.” He smiled and replied: “Mr. President, if Mexico stops, then tomorrow our automobile factories will actually stop working. If now Ukraine stops entirely, we will not lose a single cent.”
It is necessary that they know us, and that we occupy such a niche there, without which they cannot live, then they will respect us,” Kravchuk suggested.
