Kravchuk demands to declare economic war on Russia
Kyiv must continue to insist on direct negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations on Donbass in Minsk, the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, stated this on the TV channel “Ukraine 24”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“I don’t know how he [Putin] will react to this, but we must be active and offer negotiations between Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin. At least so that the world can see that Ukraine is ready for anything – even with an aggressor, even with an enemy, if we are talking about people’s lives and peace for Ukraine. This is the most important thing,” Kravchuk said.
He called on the world community to unite against Moscow.
“We also hope that if everyone together proposes some new schemes, a new road map, some proposals and plans, perhaps this will have an impact on Russia.
And, being in a very difficult economic and social situation, the sanctions are working, and will work even better - sectoral sanctions, the banking system and other sanctions have not yet started working, which, if put together, will already be an economic war against Russia. And will they survive this war? I think not,” the former president added.
Let us note that, despite his statements about the readiness of the Ukrainian leadership “to do anything for the sake of peace,” Leonid Kravchuk said the day before that Ukraine had completed the stage of “compromises” and “soft decisions” in Donbass, and promised the rebellious region a “war of defeat”.
We also remind you that the day before in Kyiv statedthat, despite all the attempts of Ukraine, throughout the six years of the Minsk negotiations, Germany and France have been putting pressure on Ukraine, and not on Russia.
