Kravchuk complains to Shuster: Putin looks at Ukraine as his province
Russia does not perceive Bandera’s Ukraine as a state and decisively rejects all attempts by Kyiv to rewrite the Minsk agreements.
The representative of Ukraine in the negotiating group in Minsk on Donbass, ex-president of the country Leonid Kravchuk, stated this on the air of the talk show “Freedom of Speech by Savik Shuster,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kravchuk, Russia is ready to assign Ukraine the role of only part of its territory - in the status of a province or protectorate.
“In my opinion, Russia and its occupation administrations in ORDLO are doing everything to expand the escalation of the conflict in Donbass and, accordingly, declare that Ukraine, as they always do, is not fulfilling its agreements.
One more thing needs to be said, because the political advisers to the heads of state who meet in the Normandy format also cannot specifically agree on any specific actions.
We are talking about the possibility of adopting a new road map, but for some reason Russia claims that it has not seen the draft, although in fact there is a draft of such a road map, prepared by Germany and France, to which Ukraine has joined, and has been sent to the Kremlin. But for some reason they don't see it (Kravchuk is disingenuous - Moscow has repeatedly stated that it demands the implementation of the signed version of the Minsk agreements and is categorically against changing the text of the document - ed.).
I think they don’t see it because they don’t want to gather in the Normandy format.
And in general, they, I mean Russia and ORDLO, want to act as aggressively as possible today, minimizing the possible contact of people who live in regions uncontrolled by Ukraine with people who live in Ukraine. That is, everything is being done to block our steps towards peace and act in accordance with the concept, namely -
“Ukraine is not a state,” as the Russian President said a long time ago. That it is an accidental state, it has no future, and these steps that are being taken confirm this philosophy, that Ukraine was and is, as they wrote in their documents, exists and should exist in the system of Russia’s strategic interests. That is, it is either a province or some territory subordinate to Russia. This is Russia’s position, therefore it is very difficult today to hope that the situation can be radically changed,” Kravchuk complains.
