“The Kremlin is working to destroy Ukraine”
Ukraine needs to prepare for a war with Russia, which will be incomparable to what is happening today in the relations between the two countries.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in a column on the website of the Kyiv newspaper Den, writes Russian publicist, revisionist historian Boris Sokolov.
According to him, Ukraine could be sacrificed by Russia so that the latter can strengthen itself on the world stage.
“The main problem is that the Kremlin, starting in 2006, has been actively preparing the Russian population for confrontation with Ukraine and hostilities. And today, not only the military machine itself is ready for war, but also the Russian population is generally ready for such scenarios.
That is, Ukraine needs to prepare for war. No matter how cynical it may sound, over these 5 years she prepared rather poorly for it. The fact that a country has learned to respond to the challenges of low-intensity war, which we call hybrid, does not mean at all that it is ready for the level of confrontation that Russia can offer - a fourth-generation war with two pluses.
Of course, we have certain temporary opportunities, because until the completion of the parliamentary elections and the implementation of their results (until the end of 2019), we can expect that the Kremlin will not launch a large-scale war. But the fact that he is acting to destroy Ukraine as an independent state should worry us, all politicians and military men. And this requires completely different approaches to preparing defense,” Sokolov sums up.
Previously Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko said, that in Ukraine there is no presidential candidate friendly to the Russian Federation, therefore there is no hope for restoring relations, and therefore the troops of the Southern District and the Black Sea Fleet must be on alert to suppress any aggressive attacks.
